About Our Kidney Transplant Program
The Transplant Center at UCH has led the field since our team performed the first-ever liver transplant in 1963. We are the only center in the Rocky Mountain region performing all solid organ transplants—heart, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas—both deceased and living. UCHealth’s Living Donor Program has been a cornerstone of transplant care in the Rocky Mountain region for decades, offering advanced options for individuals who choose to donate a kidney or a portion of their liver. Our multidisciplinary team brings deep expertise in both kidney and liver living donation and holds the distinction of being the first in the nation to perform a right lobe living liver donation.
